Hi,
Observed 103P/Hartley again last night (29 Sep 2010). Just starlike with haze. Using 106mm refractor.
Also imaged it. See www.variablestarnights.net

I am hoping to track it down tonight if I get a chance with the Skylux 70mm... if it clears.

ok, comet of the year me a...
Just saw it with 7x50 binos and without starrynight I would not have found it, talk about faint !
Nothing spectacular, but good to see it all the same.

Saw it last night with the 16". Faint and diffuse is the best way to describe it.

well you know what, I just had a look at starrynight again given that you barely saw it in a 16 inch and realised that I had the nebulae turned off, its possible that I mistook the pacman nebula for this comet, I have found in the past that starrynight can be slightly out when it comes to exact locations for comets, I assumed that was the case here.
I'll need to have a look again at this comet on the next clear night, oh well...
so is this comet's core point like with a diffuse halo, anyone got a size estimation ??
