Lidl watch

Jut readin' budz post. I note budz says 'Refractor' not reflector so I guess that is important point.
I know I might get shot for this:) But I asked A&S what else they have to compete with the lidl offer. A Nexstar 130SLT reflector on a goto mount for €550 delivery included. Now in fairness I have to say that does sound like a good deal.
I bought my 102SLT from the UK - €480 euros all in including shipping.
Given that the 130SLT is cheaper I would have thought that AI could have done it cheaper - €436 to be exact (incl shipping), not the 550 they are looking for, thats €114 euros over the top, on top of their existing profit margin. RIP OFF.

Nice set-up you have there attaching the guide scope on top of the main tube. I presume you are trying an autoguiding system there..Where could I get the mounting system that you have? I would also like the option of piggybacking a Canon 350D. I had a look at Weasner's LXD75 site but all the links for purchasing the mounting systems are in the States..
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ray

you all gota remember also that if there is a similiar offering from A&S, even if it was a few euro more expensive( im not saying it is or isnt, as i dont know the pros and cons of each scope) , if your scope breaks you can call up the A&S guys will do everything they can to sort it out and even if new parts arer required, you will get them as quick as they can arrive at A&S. if a scope from lidl goes belly up, it could be a long process to get new parts and could even cost you more. so take into consideration the after sales service also you will get from A&S and i have to say they are very good.

I mounted the Skylux with 3" mounting rings that I got from Seanie. The rings are bolted on the mounting rings of the LXD75 Tube.
If you want to piggyback a camera, you will need a dovetail plate that would attach to the mounting rings on the LXD75 tube and then screw into the tripod socket on your camera.
You can get mounting rings and dovetail plates from North Down Telescopes or Telescope Service
You may need to rebalance the scope after attaching mounting rings, etc to minimize the amount of strain on the motors
