It's actually 28 days, I made a typo. You can return the product to Lidl within 28 days of purchase and get your money back with no quibbles. That is part of your contract with the seller and is what I was pointing out. I have in the past returned a camera and encountered no difficulties.
I am concerned that someone would buy a product from a retailer and leave it unopened for longer than the return period, because the goods are not in an acceptable state at that point the buyer has allowedit to elapse and can no longer avail of the opportunity to return it for cash. That's all.
Warranty support is a separate matter.

Still only three reports - but all good.
I scoured all the Lidls looking for one but came up blank, so maybe those Touts that Seanie mentioned got them all.

Mine is absolutely fine. Everything works as advertised.
Mind you, I'll probably be junking the scope in favour of the Tal 6" I already have. The focuser's pretty cheap in feel and is full of some gunk that Meade uses as a lubricant, but actually seems more like glue.

Given that there isn't alot of activity this time around, it seems like the scopes worked fine this time around so far, time will tell.

Don't forget that if it is faulty you can only return it directly to Lidl for cash refund for up to 20 days after purchase. Later than that and you have to deal with Meade support.
Sounds like they're covering themselves based on previous years' experiences.
Actually isn't that illegal? Your contract is always with the seller. Mind you you might be better off with meade support.

Well, I gave into temptation and opened it. Everything seems fine but seeing as it's my first telescope, I'm not sure what to check.
What are the normal problems? Should the motors make alot of noise? I have the thing pretty well balanced but it sound like a robot.
