Hey, I see you have a 12'' Meade Lightbridge.
Hows it working out for you?
I've had it about a year now, Frank.
An excellent piece of kit.
I replaced everything with Bob's Knobs for easier collimation, and the scope has been amazing since its first outing.
I can have it out, assembled and collimated in less than ten minutes, and it's very easy to manoeuvre.
The brake is just about ok with a heavy top load like a Telrad and Nagler Type 3 17mm eyepiece (big beast), but I'd recommend them to anyone.
What I do for carrying the mirror and top section is use padded drum cases....they work really well at protecting it.
A laser collimator's a must, though.
I've had a go at the 8" Lightbridge too...very good indeed as well.

I was very surprised. I used the same Panoptic 27mm on them, and the views weren't that different in things like M57 and the Double Cluster.
The 12" was brighter, but not markedly so.
I'd say that a good eyepiece on an 8" would make it a perfect scope for general purposes, with easy portability and storage.
With the 8" FL of about 1220mm, the Panoptic was giving a mag of about x45, as opposed to x56 with the 1520 mm FL of the 12".

One thing worries me though, when I set mine yesterday the pressure was 1025hPa. Met Éireann now says it's 1026hPa, but my station says 1024hPa. Maybe it's just a localised depression.
Just breathe out Dave.
You were just kidding, right?

I'm so utterly depressed about it these days that my garden has now become an event horizon. I've seen small dogs fight the tug of gravity when they assume their usual momentary three-legged stance.
