Great work lads,
Thats a fine image, the red chunk in the lower left is unusual.
Let us know what it is when you have a definite answer on it.

This came to mind when I was thinking about a cause for the bright circular shape on the left of the image.
It is possible that the weight of the camera is causing the sensor plane to be off axis and pointing slightly towards the silver eyepiece adapter.

Jed/Dave - lovely image. More darks may get rid of some of the noise. Also, if you could try longer exposures, that'd help too.
The red artifact to the left is not as troublesome as what apperas to be vignetting to the whole left side. It seems to cut off the left side of M31 altogether. John O'Brien's possible cause might be worth checking out.
Other than that, its the best M31 we've seen on these boards. Keep it up!
Cheers
Dave

Dave/John,
After some tests and a lot of discussion, were fairly happy that the vignetting is caused by using 1.25" accessories. Only problem using 2" is that I dont have a 2" LPR filter. Might be asking Santa for one of those.
