As a matter of curiosity, which did you find more difficult; modifying the webcam or the 300d? Does it take much electrical knowledge to do the 300d mod or it is just a case of follow the instructions & photos and take one's time?
Michael, thats an easy one to answer, modding the 300d was *much* easier than modding the webcam. There is very little soldering to be done with the 300d mod whereas the webcam mod relies on the ability to solder submillimetre sizes. You need no electrical knowledge to do the 300d mod as you say, one step at a time and no rush!! BTW if you decide to do it Micheal come talk to me and I can help you with the replacement glass.

Good to hear that it's not too difficult. I'll have a chat with you in Galway and might take you up on that offer, if you don't mind. If I were to go ahead with it, I would appreciate a little guidance with it, if you don't mind that is.Michael, thats an easy one to answer, modding the 300d was *much* easier than modding the webcam. BTW that filter of your looks very interesting. Seems extraordinarily good value for such a large piece of filter!! I have been look at a set of 3 2" astronomik filters (OIII, HA, SII) its looking like costing almost a grand for the set.

Dave G, I also look forward to meeting you in Galway and discussing the mod.

You will be amazed at what you can get once you take the filter out!
The image you got is really very good considering the cut filter is still in place.
Later,
Jed.
