He Phil - that's very impressive - I think the technique has been mooted before but I've never used it myslef. And now you mention it, it fairly obvious - assuming you have one image that is much better than the others. Bummer if they're all rubbish
Funny though, the twinkly background and animated splodges seem to give the original some extra realism. But I like yours too - how does it perform if you raise up the white levels a tad? The asteroid is definately still there...
I guess I'd rather spend my time imaging than processing - and ultimately, I know I'll probably never reach the skills of Gendler and Misti et al. But I'd hope to at least discover something or add to the library of science...
Oh for a processing partner...
Let us know how you get on - I'd love to see these images cleaned up - just not by me! By the way, you do realise that you are working on already cleaned up images - if only you saw the original :shock:
