M82 was created by TrevorDurity
The other shot I got was of the Cigar, M82.
3x30 sec images stacked in Astroart2 & cropped.
I didn't do a great job on the levels in Gimp to get rid of the sky fog and amp glow but here it is anyway.
Again it was on the Meade 8 inch SCT and CG5GT with the 7D at prime.

Trevor both images are rather good given the conditions you describe. Well done - I like 'em!

Thanks Guys,
I must say that AstroArt helped alot here. It's a great piece of software. I was almost going to toss the shots out until I got the align and sum working in it.
A nightmare to get used to and aligning takes alot of trial and error, but the final images, particularly M13 were far brighter and had better detail than the originals.
Next step is to try and get the deconvolution plugin working without introducing too much noise.

That's not a bad image Trevor. I wouldn't be too hard on yourself. None of use are experts in astrophotography here and we're all starting out from a similar position. With the weather we have, it makes the learning curve alot harder as there's often weeks between individual clear nights.

That's a lovely image Trevor, the red in the core really brings the galaxy alive!
