I think that is a faint satellite trail Trevor has 'captured'!

Yep, it was a satellite alright. It came through on one of the cloudier images and was far brighter than than the galaxy in that shot. It wasn't as prominent when I stacked because it was just the single frame.
It never seems to amaze me how many satellites are out there. It's a strange night when I don't see at least one. Infact, I've noticed a few Iridium flares recently but didn't capture them - at least that's what I think it was. It's amazing how bright they can get. One got brighter or as bright as Jupiter for a few seconds before fading. It was certainly brighter than Vega or Arcturus.
The colour could very well be off. If I split the captures into FITS images for AstroArt the red channel is always far brighter and washed out than the blue or green. The 7D doesn't do a great job on reds in astrophoto but then again at least it is an incredible daytime camera
