Thanks guys,

Scope is a Meade LXD75 6N 750mm f5, camera is a Minolta Dynax 5D. 1/15th sec for Saturn, 1/500th for Moon both at ISO 200.

Wasn't it great to watch the "little" planet pass by the big moon. :P I have to say it really made my night.
In my mind, its only cheating if you don't reveal you did it as a composite, its fair play once you declare it, as you did.
I tried to get it in as one pic with the 300D and its was impossible so I'll be putting up a composite of different exposures tomorrow also, although not a full moon.
Nice image Paul, I was surprised at how big Saturn was, it would have just about fit into tycho, I had friends over and they all had a good look at the 2 together in the eyepiece,
When I mentioned that the width of the rings was the same distance as from here to the moon, it gave it some sence if distance.

I like it - lots - Paul! I don't know which way to make up my mind about the so-called cheating! I ean, you're right about getting the right balance and contrast for 2 such different objects as picked up electronically. But, you really have to make a good guess to get the (almost) exact distance between the 2 objects in order to keep it real.

Sure, digital cameras cheat in general anyway!

Mind you, visually, the glare from the Moon made Saturn appear on a WHITE background.
So much so that Titan almost disappeared at close encounter.

It's a lovely pic Paul but You have to admit that a full moon with black sky beside it is a bit unrealistic.

In removing the lunar glare the program removed Titan!
