Who says you can't do deep sky imaging with a full Moon in the sky. Heres an LRGB composite of M3 (Globular cluster in Canes Venatici). It consists of 45 x 60secs in L and 30 x 60 secs in each of RGB channels.
I wasn't even gonna bother imaging tonight with the Moon almost full. I'm glad I did now. Some nights you get nothing but frustration and then other nights everything just works as it should. Tonight was one of the latter thankfully.

Great resolution Dave! Lovely colour in the cluster! You must be pleased with that.
Only comment I'd make is re the background noise on the right hand side.

Lovely image Dave.
the colour is nice, those blue and yellow stars look the business.
One thing, I need to decrease my monitors brightness quite alot to get rid of the background noise on the right hand side of the image, do you have your monitors brightness down so you dont see it?

That's a wonderful image, love the colors!
BTW, M3 is our binocular target for the month .... so people should have a go at observing this object for themselves.

Dave,
There is little I can say which has not been stated above. GREAT image ... and with a nearly full moon?! :!:

Looked at this image just now on my work monitor (LCD) and I don't see any gradient at all. Image background looks very smooth and dark.
However, I know there are issues with my monitor re calibration and contrast etc.
Funny how the view can vary from one monitor to another.
Regards,
