Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Great shot Dave
It looks three dimensional and you really see the ball shaped mass of stars.
Congrats.

Thanks for the comments guys. Like Michael, I can't see that gradient that Dave L and Anthony mention. I even tried my laptop and Carl O'Beirnes laptop. Can you guys see the calibration chart underneath as 16 distinct shades. Think I better make a 32 stage calibration chart!!
My monitor is an LCD flat panel with brightness and contrast set at 50% unfortunately no matter how hard you try you cant cater for every monitor unfortunately:(

Dave,
The issue is with the bottom right quarter of the image where there is something resembling a gradient. You probably know best if the moon was in such a position so as to influence that portion of the image.
As for my monitor, I am 100% certain it is perfectly calibrated.
Just had a thought ... how about turning the image into monochrome and then inverting it which should help whatever is there appear.

PS. A good portion of the upper right quarter of the image is also affected.

Hi Anthony. If I up my monitor contrast a good bit, I can see the gradient in the green channel (hardly surpising on a full moon night) you refer to, but in order to see the gradient I need to increase the contrast so much that I cannot differentiate between the three whitest sections on the greyscale chart underneath the image. Basically no matter what I do with my monitor settings I have to change things to such a point that the calibration chart does not show 16 shades of grey.
Not that I doubt you in any way but can you confirm that you can see 16 shades of grey on the calibration chart? What I'll do in a minute if it is ok with you is crop out the upper right quadrant and then decrease the green level in stages until you can see the gradient dissapear. Then I will appy that whole level change to the entire image and see how it looks then.
Thanks for taking the time for the feedback Anthony, I really appreciate it.
