Thanks for the feedback. I can actually stack 2000+ images in astroart but for some reason as soon as I go above 300 then registax will not even open the images. Still at a loss as to whats going on with it. Astroart does not do a quality check on images so it may be faster that way. I do know that if I sigma combine a large number of frames in astroart the computer freaks out. 512 MB ram 1.2GB, 1.7Ghz

And I'm assuming WinXP as well. If that be the case, I think you should have 1BG of RAM. What is the 1.2GB referring to? Considering you're on 1.7GHz, would that be a Celeron 1.7GHz?

IF your RAM COULD be the problem, then you should exit/close all non-essential programmes. Check thebottom-right of your Toolbar and close as many icons as are not needed (e.g. Quicktime 'Q', Spybot, AVG/Norton/Solomon (keep yourself offline), and any other 3rd party software you have that might be indicated by the quicklaunch).
