I know that professional observatories also pursue similar reductions using nitrogen-cooled cameras. Perhaps this is something similar. I bet Dave knows.

Its listed on the Finger Lakes site as 'triple' TEC cooling... All I know is that it works without any liquids at all.

A guidechip is nice of course...
