God Anthony I didn't think it possible but your images just get better and better!
Now I'll second that!!! With all you the stuff you get published it would definitely do well.big A3 format book, if you ever do, I'll be first on the list.

Gents,
A very big thanks for the kind words. There is so much stuff up there, one can be entertained for a few lifetimes. So much to do and so little time?!
Dave, I will look into the issue of star spikes in nebula images. I agree with you that they add an extra dimension to open cluster images and they may (?) not be appropriate for an image involving a nebula.

Absolutely brilliant image Tony. I looked at it and I thought you had used a H alpha to get so much red in it. Then I saw your exposure times. Send some of your weather our way please.
I thought the star spikes detracted from the image purely because the image was about a dark nebula so they tended to draw the eye away from the intended subject.

Superb image as always Anto. Again, I would agree with Kieran re the spikes.

Michael et al,
I just finished an all-nighter with B143 in Aquila ... and with no spikes this time. I will have to put the CCD camera in the fridge later today to get my darks since the ambient temperature (30d C) during the evening was so high that I could not get below -2.5d C for the CCD chip ... what all of this means is a new set of darks prior to processing my data.
With all of this high heat, there was some haze and my FWHM was around 4.8" ... absolutely horrible ... but I am interested to see how things turn out.
Worse case scenario is that I will have a baseline image for this particular dark nebula to build from prior to a revisit for a reshoot.
