FOV of this image is 32 x 48 arcmins.
As for mosaic, it sure would be cool alright, but bloody difficult too I'd say! Would be nice to get in the entirity of the veil alright though.
Cheers,

Nice image Michael - perhaps you could have a go at a mosaic? What's the FOV of the image? How would I do with a 20 arcmin square?
You've got good focus, its well processed and nice and smooth. I noticed Gary's Elephant's trunk (no offence Gary) looked a little pixellated on my monitor. But this image really is nice and smooth. I think a mosaic would be really cool...

Michael,
I envy the optics you have with the pinpoint stars in that one.
Devils Advocate:
You said it was with the moon out so no doubt you had a fairly bright background to this one. Think you may have gone for too dark a background since some of the brighter parts of the nebula look a bit greyed out. Sacrifice some of the background darkness and see how it looks. I have always hated processing the veil because too much is going on in the image...rich star field, nebula, LP etc still waiting to get one I'm happy with

I understand exactly what you're saying Kieran. I was trying to balance the image between the brightness of thenbackground and maintaining contrast in the nebula.
I'll post up another version of the image later and you might let me know if it's any better or worse.
Cheers,
