Any idea what this may be? was created by pj30something
I took a picture the other night using a Celestron 90EQ with a Nikon coolpix L5 (7Mp). I had to magnify the image 10X on my computer (hense its very distorted) to see it and then i ran it through Adobe Image Ready. Perhaps the Crab Nebula?

That doesn't look like the crab nebula to me. Can you post an original unenlarged version? From experience I'd say the likelyhood of capturing the crab nebula by chance is extremely remote, more chance of winning the lotto a few times!
I'm afraid, I suspect what you captured is a couple of defocussed stars. In any case it's exciting when you capture anything at all isn't it. Keep up the good work.
