Hi Steve,
Keep an eye on the brightness/contrast towards the end of the processing, usually stacking the image brightens it, not dims it.

Thanks to the clouds over the holiday season I downloaded HandyAVI (as suggested by Anto and given the thumbs up by Frank!!.... thanks Lads.. ), and extracted the best 25% from the 5 AVIs taken from the session on the 17th of December.
I then staked these images in registax.
Here is the result..
I promise not to bore you with anymore images from that session folks!!

Fair play Steven, you seem to be extracting a fair bit of detail there.
Be careful with joining the AVI's so that you don't get planetary rotation issues.
(be sure they are not to far apart in time from each other and no more than
8 min in total as a rough guide.)
Is there any chance you could post one single pic of one
of the good frames?
It's difficult to know is that image showing some sort of stacking remnant
or is it actual detail.
If you can give an approx time of shooting also?

I was wondering about that too Frank. Is all the dark area detail or a processing problem.
