You can see alot of detail in that image, there is great potential there, nice one !!
but there are some processing issues in there also, seems like you are getting miss-aligned frames in the stacking as you are getting detail repetition in the upper center, also when you process it in registax are you using the higher levels like 4,5 or 6 if so you might want to not push them so hard as they can cause the edge of the planet to go abit weird (at least for me) and make the dark detail appear too bold.
Just my 2 cents.

Hi guys

Frank the Approx time for the imaging on the 17th od December was between 21.20 and 21.36, for the AVIs of interest.

Dave, you got it right regarding going heavy on the levels 4,,5 and 6 in registax, pulled back on the levels 1 and 2. I must have a re-run using your suggestions there Dave to see if it makes it more natural looking.

This is Starry nights representation of Mars at around that time..

for comparison

Hi Steve,
You'll find that the higher levels in registax enhance large sized details while the the lower levels such as 1 and 2 enhance the smaller finer details.
For the planets, I usually use alot of 1 (if good AVI/bmps), a small bit of 3 and maybe a tiny dash of 6.
If you can get your stacking right, you'd have one killer image !

Hi Steve,

Mars can be a tricky one try this in registax V4, on the wavelets page turn it from default to gaussian. Turn lnitial layer to 1 and Step increment to 0.This will make the wavelets more sensitive. Works a treat on the moon images two BTW well done on the image Great. let me know how you get on.
