Hi Michael,
I must say I was surprised with the detail. One of the reason for posting the image.

I'm surprised you could get that level of detail with the 80mm scope.

 Look at that ! I too have the C80ED Carl, but I did'nt think that this detail could be produced, nice job. The C80ED has an f raito of 7.5, so the crab nebula would be small anyway. You did a fine job, I have no autoguiding, but I imaged Mars and the crab back in September, but the crab is nowhere near as good as yours This is a slight crop:

Great detail on it. Imagine what it would look like with a bit of colour.

An amazing image given that the scope you used isn't alot bigger then some finderscopes.!
Mars is definitely a toughie, probability the hardest planet to get good detailed images of.

I can still only make out a faint white glow on Mars (polar cap). I really must point my scope towards Saturn. I'm guessing i will see the rings as a small "bulge" around the planet though.
But no matter. Its nice to be able to see that the planets are disks and not just points of light.

Super image mate, the detail is incredible, particularly when you have to auto guide through a C14.
