My next scope is going to be a Vixen VMC200L Catadioptric OTA

Frank you track it manually and get those images?
I'm even more impressed now.
Silly question here, but does it appear to travel slower the closer in you are zoomed?

How do you judge your brightness levels and how many FPS to image at.

Good questions Carl cuz surely you would have to have both settings on the cam set up prior to the ISS passing over.
I suppose experience in imaging it has a lot to do with it. Trial and error every pass until you get it just right then use the same settings each time.

I suppose you can compare it to mars to get a ruff guess at the brightness.Even do it looked a lot brighter than Venus to other night when I saw it the other night.

No - the more magnification you use the smaller the area of sky you are seeing and the quicker the ISS will move across your field of view. As an example... the ISS takes a couple of minutes to cross from one side of the sky to the other (horizon to horizon) but if you look at the sky through a cardboard loo-roll tube the ISS will appear to cross the much narrower field more quickly. The ISS is moving at exactly the same speed in both cases but through the loo-roll you are seeing only a small part of the sky - the same thing occurs when you use magnification.
