Hi!...was wondering if there was another good program that can be used with this B/W cam? I bought a 2nd hander w/o the software and imagingsource won't give me a license key. Thanks for any help...its a nice cam, I'm a noob AP'er and had good results with it and only an 80mm apo refractor

There are MANY digital imaging programs available to add colour to your pics. Photoshop is about the best but is expensive.
Adobe PhotoDeluxe
Paintshop Pro
The list is endless.
If it is software you are looking for to compile .AVI files into a single image........................Registax seems to be the way to go.
BTW..................NICE pic.
Must be a very good cam cuz i have a 90mm refractor scope and i sure as hell dont see Saturn as well as that.
I think i really need to get me a webcam.

Thanks for the reply. I have photoshop and registax so no problems there....what I need is the actual program to record the .avi
I tried k3ccdtools and it told me that it wasn't supported etc...running outta options.
Webcams are ok for planetary imaging...but short focal lengths are rough in that its hard to get a useable large enough picture with the small FL's. With a philips SPC900NC, this is the best I could do. Its ok but if I had a filter set and could process it using LRGB, the previous pic would surpass it.

Oh hell with those colour pics i am even MORE impressed with your cam.
How the hell did you capture the moons of Saturn in a 80mm scope?
My digicams (not web cams) only record in Mpeg format....so Registax doesnt accept them. I am looking for software that converts Mpeg to .AVI

Ahhhhhhhh 0k...............its an 80mm APO.
That explains it.
Now i have a question for the experts:
Why is an 80mm APO refractor more powerful the a run of the mill 90mm refractor like mine.
Please dont say "Because it costs more" or "better optics".
Please explain the optical differences.
