Have just gone through your tutorial and this is the result:

I know I have a lot more learning to do, and can tweek a bit more in Registax!

I'll try and get my hands on Photoshop and adjust the colours.

the tutorial is not scripture, do alot of experimenting with the levels, referance frames and so on, make sure you dont push the levels too hard or the image might appear too harsh.
I think you might have pushed the higher numbered levels abit too far, it makes the belts look like solid lines, how about only trying the 1st level and a tiny bit of the third level, also try toning down some of that purple by adjusting the colour balances, worth a try, it's all practice, youre going in the right direction.
