It’s a Celestron 100mm ED f9, I’m very happy with it.
I was shocked to see two for sale across the pond for less than £200 each
I paid well more than that. I think f9 scopes are putting people off.
Everyone wants f6 or better for imaging.
If I didn’t have one I would definitely bought one, (I nearly did)

Good images there Lads,
I had a look at Jupiter last night and man o man!, what a big change the planets has gone through since last year, its very dramatic. !!

?.. no belt, I wonder has the greater amount of white surface area on the planet actually made the planet physically brighter, it almost looks like it is through the scope, there is alot more white on the planet compared to last year.
I was hoping to see the grs, but hey, it was around the other side of the planet.

My latest attempt :)

Getting there with focussing, but not there yet. Much clearer views with the eye.

Spent some time collimating the last few nights...

Ganymede transiting 3rd September 2010:



Spent 10 minutes imaging and about 2 hours observing. Turned out to be a wonderful night for viewing.....not looking good today...
