As of now www.metcheck.com is predicting up to 99% cloud cover for the duration of the eclipse. Typical.

Better that old people should die of talk than to have young people die in war.

Sticks and stones
It's actually an improvement over the earliest forecast for Thursday morning that was shown on that site - which may mean that it'll turn out to be better than now predicted. But I'm not banking on it. If all else fails I'll be watching online instead and both Sky News and BBC News multiscreen are known for broadcasting these events. And since I have an LCD TV in the livingroom I could photograph that in a pinch!

With our weather patterns, what do you expect?
I'm a Tribesman born and bred, not a native Lilywhite. Are you sure that you want to talk about hurleys?

Hi,
So I'm new to all this and wondering what if anything I will see after 1am on friday morning - if we have clear skies ?
I live in Co. Tyrone - very dark, but will the real action not start after 3am.
Just wondering if I should set my alarm for 1am or 3am or both.
Any ideas what that the weather firecast is giving ?
Madhatter

It's early Thursday morning, not Friday morning, that the eclipse is on.
