Spotted 2 Perseids in the 8 minutes I stopped to have a look. 1 came directly from the radiant. Perseus was riding very high. No hint of Moon in the sky either. Pity it won't look like this on Saturday next...

Also the moon will be about 17 deg in the East SouthEast.
Hope this forecast holds (7 days is a bit long).

Seanie and others, I uploaded this 2mb wav to my backup webpage on Eircom, it was recorded at 9-30am this am on 48.2501 mhz, the main carrier is a high powered Tv station in near Madrid. you can hear many meteor reflections, none too dramatic at this time, there is nearly a constant weak carrier probably due to weak enhancement by Sporadic E
All the best and good observing

Forgot all about the meteor shower so it was a nice surprise to see a couple streaking in from Perseus as I aligned on Dubhe at around midnight. They really are spectacular.

Pretty neat Charles. So most of those low frequency radar blips are meteors passing between us and Madrid?
