Partial lunar eclipse - 7 Sep 2006

Took this pic last night of the eclipse, it was a lovely view, especially the moon illusion.

Taken in the playing fields in Gonzaga Ranealgh at South Dublin AS's first meeting of the year.

Not a bad way to start the year.

Some really nice photos there guys, makes up for the lack of a spectacle the rest of us did not get to see!

I'd been looking forward to this for weeks. Then I ended up in London yesterday, and a delayed late flight back - so I missed all but a few fleeting glimpses of the eclipse from the plane. GRRR! (work is interfering with my astronomy).
Still the forecast for viewing over the weekend is pretty good so I'll get a full-moon montage done tonight I hope.

Love the one with the wind turbines.

Too much cloud here but at least we get to see it online !
