It would be quite expensive with not-so-great chance of catching it. On a cruise shiop, you would have better prospects, but still....
WAs Dave said, we took our chances in RUssia with a trip we put together ourselves so it didn't cost an entire arm & leg. Fortunatley, the dice rolled in our favour.
Myself and Denise are heading to China for next year's one. However, the focus there is a holiday and if we see the eclipse, it will be a bonus. I couldn't go all the way there and just sit on a cruise ship waiting for an eclipse and not see China itself.

Hi,
The prospects for the 2010 Eclipse are better than any eclipse upto 2017 (and also better than Siberia in 2008 Eclipse - but not as good as the Gobi).
The South Pacific is a long way to go just for the eclipse, ideally it should also be a holiday,
John

Having seen tourist photos of Easter Island and those wonderful stone statues, I am very eager to head for Easter Island ... and in the middle of nowhere.

I'm with you on that one Paul!
I'm planning a RV trip up the coast and although the
sun will be low in altitude if we are lucky with the weather
the vista should be stunning.
As for Easter Island.
I would book it in a second flat if the prospects were good but
with those odds of seeing it then it is a definite no no.
For me it's gonna be the eclipse of the centuary cruise.
then Oz.
Then the US.

My sentiments as well. Heck, I'd even go just to vsit the island (it's on my "To Do" list), and if the weather played ball and I got to see another solar eclipse, I'd consider it a bonus while there!

Hi,
I would urge those interested in the 2010 Pacific TSE to book soon as tours are filling up. Some tours are fully booked up at this stage.
One year three days and counting (still have to get the 2009 TSE out of the way),
