I was thinking of going up to Howth Head. As it is one of the highest and accesable points on the Northside of Dublin with totally clear views east.

Hi Paul,
Regarding the site at Garron Point, the sun rises 13 minutes or so sooner then it does in Dublin given a perfect horison, but is that somewhat reduced by having Scotland on the horison ?

Hi Dave,
No, Garron Point is the northernmost point that doesn't have Scotland in the way - further north sites do have this problem.

Midlands Astronomy Club will be hosting a FREE camping event at Annaharvey from Tuesday night June 5th following that night's talk by yours truly, to watch sunrise on The Hill on Annaharvey Farm at dawn on Wednesday June 6th, followed by a cooked camping breakfast!
No charge, everyone welcome but children under 15 must be accompanied with an adult and I MUST have notification of your intent to attend (weather permitting, of course).
