:y32b4: Hi Michael
My husband and I saw it at approx 10:54pm we live 3 miles south of Bunclody in Kilmyshall. We saw 12 fire balls heading in a westerly direction over Mount Leinster. What was it?

I still stunned, Michael, with what I saw. It seemed to start near Jupiter, perhaps Perseus, and stayed in the northern half of the sky heading westwards. I don't remember seeing the Plough at the same time. Sorry.

Aubrey.

From the video it looks like the classic break-up of a large meteor upon entry into the atmosphere.
The meteor is most likely natural in origin (material left over from the formation of the solar system) but could also be the re-entry of spacecraft debris.

From the descriptions, it seems to have passed from east to west at a location to the north of the island of Ireland.
