Great images guys. Dave, your binos look like the bot from the Short Circuit movies!

Another few shots from Galway last night. Very faint, got a couple of shots on a normal lens but missed it behind clouds by the time I could slew the scope towards it. It should become more visible of the next few weeks but hoping it will brighten as well - not much chance though unless it does a Holmes on us.

Looks like we all got great views of it finally! :-)
I was at work so I couldn't join the hunt with the club,
I found a really great elevated spot near work looking down over Galway and onto the bay
so all was not lost.
Got some pics I must work on.

Found it at last, good viewing at the moment, no problem with binoculars, nice short bright tail, not naked eye though

I finally caught it with 10x50 binoculars over the lights of the Swords Rugby club, upper Broadmeadows estuary, from Malahide County Dublin. So here is one of the photos I took. A 3 second exposure at F2.8 ISO 400 on a Pentax Kx with a very old K-Mart 135mm telephoto lens. I did crop and play with the gamma and contrast to get it to stand out more but it was clearly visible in the original image.

I also tried some photos with my F5.6 500mm celestron Maksutov but it's unguided and the glare of nearby light pollution spoiled those ones.

The Donabate side of the estuary might provide an even better view to the west.
