this is the real problem when you throw something like this out to the masses.
I find the "star" logo difficult to read,
I really like the Avqest, but I dont know if this is the place for it ?!?
The "Meal" logo is celtic looking, would it be possible to space the letters out abit more, I dont think the colours suit it...
Hang on a second, why are we bothering with
" www.irishastronomy.org "
shouldn't the top of the page be
"IFAS - Irish Federation of Astronomical Societies"
or something along those lines
I dont think the sites address is that important.

A lot of work done there Bart!
If the green tone of Orion is not to any one's liking, may I suggest replacing it with a real picture of Orion  Just like an avatar :
I have one no probs there.....
Just my 2 cents..............

Hi all,
Good bit of work going on here- good to see. Keep 'em coming. I've been up to my eyes in club stuff but for now I can offer a few insights into logo design, oddly enough taken from a book on logos...
1) Logo should tell a story- a good logo should offer some insight into not only the activity of a corporation, but the ethos and story behind the company.
2) Logo should work across all media- from business cards to building size posters, to websites and 3D.
3) The logo should work in colour and black and white (not greyscale). Gradients are never a good idea or similar adjacent tones. Pixel based images (photos) are almost certainly out.
They aren't bad guidelines and god knows I've bent them myself. When I'm stuck for a bit of inspiration I have a look here...

Some food for thought... Have fun!

I must say, trevors logo looks great. I also have to admit, I dont like the star trek font used in past ifas logos.
Also I do like websites which are primarily white, (though you'd never know that looking at my site ). Just a personal preference.

I would prefer Trevors font too. Maybe drop the www. and a capital letter I would make it even cleaner.
