Can I suggest two additions; On the right hand side there's a section for ILPAC. Beneath could we add a link to Arcturus, perhaps bringing you to the latest issue or to a seperate page outlining what it is and then listing issues for download? Also could we stick a space for the AOP that will lead to that page when it's up and running?
Thanks again for the work Bart. It does look great.

Just took a look at the latest update - fantastic looking - well done Bart. It's a real step up. And yes, the IFAS in the upper left actually does look quite good, even though it's Star-Trekky

Hi Shane,
All that sounds good, remember this is just a mockup so I just put some stuff in it to make it look populated.
The next step now is to decide on the structure of things. I'll have a think about that and then start a new thread when I know what the right question is to ask you guys.

If we're gonna run a competition will we be offering anything more for a prise than our eternal gratitude?
You know we should stock up on a few lidl binoculars for things like this...
I dont think we have anything to offer other than gratitude and fame at the moment.

Or keep an eye out for offers like that DK Universe one the Book People are doing.

* Increase the yellow - make it slightly darker, perhaps even adding a slight brown or orange tint - very slightly - to make an increase in contrast against its white background.
* Personally, I liked the black border at the sides. A white border, bordered by a blue line, bordered by a white & light blue background? Looks, well, confusing is the only word I can think of!
* If you like the Orion aspect, why not go for the real thing? Or even any other celestial object. If I may divert your attention to this:
-> never minding the 'Star Trek' font ( ), using the nucleus of the Black Eye galaxy is compact enough to use on a large scale zoomed in. I tried with the Orion nebula, and I can't quite get the same effect -> its so large, that to recognise it takes more zoom-out then -in! Its printer friendly too.
But its only a suggestion!
I know what your angle is on it - to have a defined logo that can both be printable in both colour, and B&W, and used e.g. future embroidering etc. for IFAS garments. But there is something lacking in the Orion star-point one. We do need to come up with something more defined and energetic - even in b&w.
Overall, I like the way this new look is heading!

Had a bash at creating an IFAS logo- it started off being an eye with a star for a pupil (eye-fas, geddit? ) then I started at looking for ways to make it look more Irish. Started looking at celtic designs I could put within the eye- then it struck me that celtic spirals look something like a spiral galaxy if I spaced it out a little. So the result is this kind of celtic-eye-spiral thing.
I'll post up the rough work in a while- might serve as inspiration for others.
Cheers,
