A small change to the front page ?? was created by dave_lillis
Bart,
Would it be possible to have a section on the front page dedicated to club meetings, near the botom maybe.
I.E., every Sunday (for example) the section would update to show info on what club meetings that are on this week, just a one liner, saying the club name, time, title and the speaker?
This would reduce the need for people to make reminder posts about upcomming meetings ?

What do you think?

Perhaps the "Clubs" link in the "Main Sections" bar at the top? As it is, it pretty much opens a blank page except for a line or two at the top.

Maybe, although it would make a bigger impact if it was at the bottom of the front page ??

I have plans for a Calendar type thingy that people can post up events on and that the home page will display all events for the next 5 days or so. Unfortunately it is not likely that I'm gonan get to do anyof this for a while, probably not till the Christmas break TBH. I have just found out that I have to submit my PhD by November next year and its going to take a "Herculean effort" to get it done on time according to my supervisor!

You certainly have your hands full for the next year or so.

I installed a PHP event calendar from these people;

www.ikemcg.com/scripts/index.html

Fairly quick to install and administer. (I think you can run PHP on your server?) You can see it on my site here;

www.irishastronomy.com/calendar/

Not many events in my one right now, as you need to persuade people to keep it updated! But, if you managed to do that, and wrote some PHP to take 'Next 7 days' from the db to display on your homepage, that might work.

[edit] Just noticed 'phpGallery' on that site as well.... interesting [/edit]

Everyone in Ireland buys Meade, and they all buy them from Lidl.
