But I got an email (I presume all users did) about the site been under a distributed attack, does that mean someone has set up a means of making constant enquiries to the site thus slowing it down for everyone else, it would certainly explain alot. what would someone gain by doing this? besides maybe a kick . just curious.

I sent that email, all users should have got it.
We are not sure why somebody would attack the IFAS website.
Maybe it is just something to attack, we don't know, but
it's affecting a few sites that are running on this server
and none of them are being directly attacked

Any progress on implementing a New Topic Notification widget? I just saw the Recent Discussions tab and was very surprised at how much I had been missing out on! I read a lot of emails from a lot of different lists and forums, so I tend not to go hunting for more unless I have to!

Phil,
No progress on a "New Topic Notification" component due to the amount of issues we have had to deal with in recent weeks but it is still on our list to do.
The "Recent Discussions" tab should be pretty sufficient as an interim solution as it gives all discussions for the last month.
