What's with the severe request to have the forums THE website?

What the hell are you on about Seanie?
I didn't request anything.
I'm just making suggestions and trying to show an interest.

Get over it guys, there's more to this place than just forums!

Get over what Seanie?
What are you trying to say?
This is exactly the kind of sarcastic vibe I was talking about.

Telling me to 'get over it' is insulting in fairness pisses me off.

You can't force people to join just for the sake of increasing membership count. To do that (Frank and Dave) we might as well make the forums browsed by members-only instead.

Look,
we can chat about this at WSP if you like.
We all know that it's hard to get stuff across on a forum.
Although I am pissed off I will 'get over it'
:silly:

Oh.
And the main page is making a lot more sense.
Well done!

On a side note, is there any chance I can get access to the ifas committee section, I need it for making the announcement for the WSP IFAS meeting.

Look, no offence meant Frank. And yes, sometimes these things are better transpired verbally in person! ;) The gut feeling I had at the time from the remarks given was more critical than suggestive, saying that "I want the old boards back" and so on doesn't help. That's where I got a tad uppity.

Guys, the feedback is grand, do keep it coming. Just go easy on the should have's for what you want to see. In fairness, there is only feedback coming from about 7 to 10 voices here, not a good sample rate by any count considering the amount of users using these forums. We're just trying to bring in what was asked for the greater good. Some things are going to be slightly long term over others, be it content catching on with users, or implementation of extra features still to come.

Patience on all fronts would help us all. It is all done voluntarily, and at the moment, with only 2 pairs of hands right now.

*SIGH*

Seanie.

again,

I cant begin to guess why you got the feeling that
any of the feedback I gave was intended to be a criticism
rather than plain feedback
(which ye asked for)

And it's not ''What I want to SEE''
My only concern is that the site survives the change over
and to be bluntly honest for a time it looked like the site
was on its last legs with feck all posts for ages and
a huge drop off in activity.

10 people offering feedback is a start,
The impression I get from your comment there is that
because only 7-10 people have comented then the rest are
100% happy with everything?
its a pity you couldnt get everyone to give honest detailed
feedback.
Then you could tell for sure whats working or not.
The simplest way is to see what areas the users use.

Again like a broken record I keep saying,
I LIKE THE IDEA OF GROWING THE SITE,
of all the things ye are trying to implement
BUT.
There are other factors such as simple visual / usability factors like
that the page displays well on
ALL browsers and screen sizes.

''We're just trying to bring in what was asked for the greater good. Some things are going to be slightly long term over others, be it content catching on with users, or implementation of extra features still to come.''

Fine, grand I get it.
I was just trying to point out that the areas on the left were dead and
if a visitor came to the site what would they find?

Again,
what content can users contribute?
Where do they post it?
Who do they send it to?
What do ye want the members to do?
Post it up on the main page then people might take up
filling in the areas ye want.
I dunno.

I'll stay sthumm and let ye get on with it.

all comments meant in a constructive, friendly non aggressive manner,

I've upgrade the version of the forum software in the website, however, it has changed a few things around, like the main greeting page for the forum is a list of all recent discussions.
The forums are still working just a few minors issues that need to be ironed out
