Feedback on the new site

I was trying to update my profile and I got a message saying that my user name was invalid. It seemed to be complaining about the space. Any thoughts?
Michael.

One of my other bugs (the forum stuff all got formatted below the fixed-layout stuff on the left (main menu, user menu, moon phase) now appears fixed.
Clicking the "remember me" checkbox in the login section doesn't seem to work. Even opening a new window (while currently logged in to a different one) doesn't automatically log me in.
The fixed-width and always-keep-main-menu visible make for a lot more scrolling (since all the topics end up being formatted narrower and therefore longer). I can certainly see the benefit to new users of always having the main menu up, but perhaps we could abandon the fixed-width part? (Or have the main menu be horizontal above the forum rather than vertical and using space all the way down the infinite-height toilet-paper scroll-space?)
Don't mean to be hen-pecking you guys. Just though you'd like to know the issues I had found.
Cheers,
-- Jeff.

I also have that, I presumed it was a firefox related bug or something, a real pain.OK, I found the "hover-only" profile editing stuff, but boy is that counter-intuitive.

I find the same thing. for the old site I saved the latest posts as a favourite rather then having to go to the front page and work my way to it, when now I click on the favourite it doesn't see that its me, I have to go to the front page and that auto logs in and I then work my way to the latest posts. One of my other bugs (the forum stuff all got formatted below the fixed-layout stuff on the left (main menu, user menu, moon phase) now appears fixed.

The site is now run on Joomla. If anyone wants to do up a new template then we'll consider installing it. Realistically though, best get used to things the way they are, I don't have the time to re-do the theme and I doubt Darragh does either.
Bugs we'll work on fixing, but we're just volunteers, we're not going to waste our time re-doing something that works.
This place is awfully low on volunteers when it comes to actually DOING things. Lots of ideas, but ask for help and you get silence.
Darragh has poured easily hundreds of hours into this. I haven't done nearly that much, but I don't have any more time to donate. Time for others to step up to the plate.
Bart.
