hi all,
as former holder of the title, I'd also like to add my congratulations to Martin's conferring as Irish Astronomer of the Year. I'd like to echo what Al said about Martin (and Conor's) tireless observing efforts, reports, and contributions to the forum. Of course you know Martin that you can't go off on the after-dinner speech circuit now and blame that on the reduction in the amount of observations being made
as an aside, Martin mentioned about his observing log in a post today and I'd encourage everyone to keep such a journal. Looking back over the amazing sights you'll see in your astronomical pursuits will always be rewarding.
best wishes again Martin,
John
