Fireball biggest i have ever seen observed at 12:28am

martin(observing partner) and i where standing in my back garden talking. The sky was completely overcast with blustery conds, periodic showers and occ gale force gusts. At 00.28 a tremendous blue/white flash appeared near the zenith that lit the whole ground and sky like daylight. The ferocity of this blinding flash was hard to describe in words. We where stuck to the spot with shock, it was obviously a fireball of incredible magnitude that appeared to have come from the east. At 00.29 we heard an awful sonic boom that lasted for many seconds, infact it was more like a horrible loud rumble that peaked twice in volume. I have to admit that the sound of this frightened me, i had honestly thought the earth was experiencing an impact event. This is the brightest fireball i have ever seen. This was a very serious incident! I hope others witnessed this event.

Were are looking for other witnessis for the one we seen but nobody had seen anything.
