Just a quick note to say how much Leanne and I enjoyed the weekend - yes it was great to put faces to the names, meet new people (especially Mia ) and say hello to friends from previous Starparties.
Highlights were getting to look thru' a 20" for the first time in my life (but hopefully not the last), Chris Lintott's talk and England getting thru' to the Semi Finals!
The amount of organisation and hard work that goes into hosting the Starparty must be huge and I can't thank everyone involved enough for what really is a highlight of the year. Well done and thank you......

By the way, any time you want me to look after sound, I'll be happy to do so if I'm there, guys.
Here's a picture of the set-up we used for the EAAS meeting where Dave McDonald appeared. Nothing but the best for Dave.

Can't see the pic :
(or am I just being thick and not getting a very obvious joke there?)
An-eee-way...
Your more than welcome to tweak the sound next year if your around!
We are planning on getting smaller speakers because those ones are just too
big to carry around.
We are keeping the Amp but if you have any suggestions as to minimum
size for what we would need that would be great!

Frank, if you're looking for an alternative, ditch the lot, and go for a small fold-away system like this:
www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/page/shop/flypage/product_id/7608
It's light, powerful and folds up so it can be carried in one hand.
What you have now is over-powered for what you need, unless you're planning on running discos or open-air events, in which case it'd be good for those.
A smaller system like the one above will do fine for your meetings and events like Whirlpool.
A cheaper but heavier version is at www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/page/shop/flypage/product_id/8329
but that will only take one microphone, but probably two more with XLR/line adapters.
As you were permanently running two at Whirlpool you need at least two, maybe three inputs.
However, it contains stands and all, and can run in stereo.
Any other help you need, don't hesitate to ask.

Ah yes, I remember it well. The lighting rig was something else too.
Don't forget though, the next time I'm up I want *STILL* Ballygowan - not the fizzy stuff

It's amazing the efforts some clubs will go to in order to "normailse" Dave's little squeaky voice....Here's a picture of the set-up we used for the EAAS meeting where Dave McDonald appeared. Nothing but the best for Dave.
