Thanks lads,
hopefully it will be a nice change.

Well, John.
I actually thought you were going to inform me that
Kevin was not from Ireland.
To be honest I raised an eyebrow while reading your PM.
Whatever about all of the incidential & personal reasons
as to why you would like me to change it
I am, respectfully, not goiing to.
Just as you have your personal reasons why you don't want
people using the word I have my personal reasons why I do use it.
No malice or politics, thats just the way it is.
You see, I quite like using the word Eire
I quite like slipping in the odd 'coupla focal'
here and there even if only for fun.
anyway,
As you said yourself,
Eire is the Irish for Ireland.

(apologies if I have offended any Irish speakers in the
audience by not using fadas - my keyboard is set up for
English - )

If your language is set as English (Ireland) you can hold down the <Alt Gr> key when typing vowels to apply a fada.

Mar seo: Rugadh agus togadh mé i Beal Átha na Slua i gcontae na Gaillimh ach tá mé i mo chónaí anois i baile Chill Dara.

Isn't it amazing what a thread starting off as a topic on a starparty evolves into. :silly: :silly:
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the event in the Burren and lets all hope that the weather gods will be on our side. If we get a cloud/haze free sky, then the darkness of the place will make the observing session one to remember.

Indeed lets stay on topic here...

Well Niel I really hope the weather plays ball but as you know
the odds are against us in this country, we can only but try.
I've a feeling some of us will be availing of the opportunity
to do some observing on Friday night.

IF Friday night plays ball weather wise, then I'll be certainly at the observing site for sure.
