Lots of options Eamonn, but probably the best one is to use the BULB setting if you have one on your tripod-mounted camera, and take a long duration exposure of the event. Try anything from a few seconds to a minute, on ISO 800 to 1200 for the shorter times, ISO400 for the longer ones more than 30 seconds, also depending on twilight brightness. That's what I plan on doing if I get the chance (Canon 350DSLR and remote cable).

Dave,
the passes for Sat/Sun are all very good alt. wise.
Obviously I don't know how high the external tank will be but
still, I'd say it will have to be somewhat visible.
Here is that vid I was talking about...

Hi everyone
Seanie thanks for the tips for the camra, iam lucky I have a cannon 400d,I hope to catch some good shots.
The crew are at the cape, and the countdown is going smoothly, tanking will begin around 7 hours before lift off,the Shuttle will be travelling at her top speed of 17500mph(thats 5 miles a second !) when we get to see her,and will be at a height of 220 miles.
There is a crew of seven, with 2 Irish Americans Hurley the pilot, and mission specialist John Cassidy.
With the Iss and the Shuttle, that will be 13 people over the skies of Ireland this weekend.
Go to Utube and type in "space shuttle over Ireland" to see the last fly over and tank on May 2008.
Regards Eamonn
