Burren Starparty observing Friday/saturday was created by johnomahony
For those of you coming down on the Friday night, there will be observing at the dolmen carpark if the weather is good. Friday will probably be the better "observing" night as there won't be members of the general public there as on the Saturday night (which is more of an "outreach" type of observing night for the first few hours).
Hope to see you all there.

I'll be staying both nights, travelling down Friday evening. John, can you or a fellow member of your club give me GPS co-ords if I arrive later than expected, but knowing you guys will still be giving your all if the weather is good? ;)

Just to add to what John said.
If you know anyone who is in the area for the starparty on Friday night and who aren't on these boards, could you let them know about the observing at the Dolman site for that night.
We'll be at the hotel earlier that day anyway, so you can come along if you're around, by then we'll know hopefully what we'll be doing that night.
Lets keep the fingers crossed!

Ya it'd be great if it was clear as it would be a more comfortable
evenings observing as all attending would be the die hards.
And at least there would be no (or hopefully no) - Turn off your feckin headlights!!
- although there is always one.

For the Saturday night...

we had to come up with a plan to section off the site
to prevent any accidents and to make sure everyone could set up & observe in comfort.
We will have someone at the entrance directing cars to one side for parking.
You can pull into the scope section and set up but we need you to then park
the car on the other side of the embankment.
If you have any issues regarding power or that kind of thing then obviously we will
try and work something out.

Here is a plan of the site - Remember - this applies only to the Saturday night.
