Hi All,
As per another thread here the IAS and SDAS will be observing the Venus - Jupiter conjunction on Tuesday 13th March at the Sugarloaf carpark.
Meet at the car park at 6.30.
NOTE: Please check back after 2PM on the day to see if the event is going ahead.
Anyone interested?
Michael.

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Can anyone make it for 6pm at the Sugarloaf? Last Saturday afternoon I could see Venus with the unaided eye at 5pm! I did observe it then, and at 112X I saw 62% illuminated phase.

The forecast is looking good so far with a High Pressure system parked right over us. Should be clear and best of all?? The High will steer the infernal jetstream away from us. Might be worth bringing the big scope for some high power Jupiter views never mind the small widefield scope for the conjunction view.
