I don't believe this crap! Perfect time to try and see this comet, again, and the whole western horizon is draped in cloud, again... and after such a warm sunny day too... AARRGGHH!!

Not me, I'm trying to off-load some of my gear!

I was just thinking the same thing. Someone must have bought something very big, or else time on hubble. Clouded out here too, and I was sure I was going to have success this evening.
Cheers

Did not wait till sunrise (had to go to work!), but I guess the Head would still have been visible.
I posted my image from today ( irishastrosoc.org/news.htm ).
Actually it looked better in my 12x26s.
Nice image Keith, glad you saw it. The longer focal length makes for a better
image.

Comet McNaught (C/2006 P1) seen through horizon murk this evening (11th Jan at 17.04UT). What impressed me this evening is that the tail is really developing into a nice narrow fan-shape, as seen in my 12x36s. Central Condensation very slightly less condensed (DC=.
Magnitude markedly inferior to Venus.
Rush, Co Dublin
Getting near the end of the apparition as seen from this country.
