Hi,

Just a quick note.

After many cloudy mornings, I observed Comet ISON C/2012 S1 low in the east.

Date & Time: 2013 Oct 9 at 04.40 UT.
Mag. Estimate: 11.1
Coma Diameter: 2'

25cm reflector used, 68x.

The comet showed a stellar central condensation with a much fainter coma.

I am still hoping for a decent display next December.

Well done John! I've been setting my alarm early recently but there hasn't been a sufficiently clear sky to get me to leave the house to try and see it!

Nice work John. I have been keeping an eye also, but the weather in the early hours has not been favourable. Now is the time to start watching out for ISON folks, get your gear ready!
