nice shot John,
there is definitely something there in the aftermath, probably a rubble pile.
Anyone else look at the narrow field images of the sun
not sure if the Sun is laughing at us or the passing comet....

and this thing is getting brighter still !!
Makes you wonder is the comet someway intact and was there something in the suns inner atmosphere that caused the tail to completely evaporate at the comets surface, making it dissapear ???, more clutching at straws probabily...

Well Dave when you are drowning and straws are all you have you grab hold and don't let go. But I hope so too even enough just to get a glimpse of it early next month.more clutching at straws probabily...

Fainter version of comet C/2006 P1 (McNaught) possible? That dust/debris stream could broaden quite a bit if it doesn't get vaporised first.
