4 hours after perihelion
Comet head reemerges from LASCO C3 coronagraph occulter
Imaged by LASCO C3 instrument on the SOHO spacecraft from the earth L1 Lagrangian point. Remnants of the tail from before perihelion remain extending 6 degrees across the field of view.
SOHO is a project of international cooperation between ESA and NASA
