excellent video, shows the entire event perfectly,
not only does it look like the comet survived, its back to a brightness thats on a par with what it was before it encountered the Sun, its almost unbelievable! :bigshock:

Yes so the tail and coma detaching was what was witnessed yesterday around 7.30pm - the nucleus or part of it kept going and now the nucleus dust/gas is re-igniting and coma + tail forming again! Some thought the comet orbit was altered but I read now that its only out by less than arc second, within systems errors.

There is a lot of speculation now of course on naked eye capability and longevity of Ison, time will tell, or NASA should they get it right this time

Stack I did, up to today 2.13pm

Can see the up tail still blown by solar wind but the orbital tail is starting to show better and better! MAG +1 or thereabouts according to some.

Hi Guys, when do you think we can actually get a chance to see this emerge at dawn?

Would tomorrow morning have a chance? (camera at the ready) B)

Keith..

Its certainly worth a try if clear skies - not sure of the position of it but I think it would be above the rising sun, slightly east - pretty faint at the minute so really not sure you can pick it up

it would need to be mega bright to see it at that distance from the sun cos the sky would be bright blue, but maybe by sunday/monday morning it might be far enough away,
I'd still look though if I was up and had a clear sky.
