Was cutting the second ring for the secondary cage when the "bit" (don't know the technical term for them cutting blades  ) in the router broke. Made a dash to B&Q and bought what appeared to be a standard size one - 1/4". Came home and found it was too small.

Told you about the bits! Now that you bought the router Mike, get yourself a router bit set. If you thik you're going to use more of it during your construction using the marine ply, buy a couple pieces of the same bit you're going to use.

Got the router sorted out this evening. Turns out the router came with a few sizes of collets (adapters to allow diffeent size bits). The new bit I got was made of tungsten carbide. Much sharper than the previous one and flew through the timber like a knife through butter. Second ring of secondary cage is now complete.

Went home yesterday and got my brother to weld up the steel frame of the mirror cell:

This will allow me to finish off the mirror cell.

The bits and pieces are really starting to look like they're taking shape Mike. Your brother looked like he did a good job there.
